What a wild 24 hours Michele and I had! We just got back from the Super Bowl in Houston, Texas where our New England Patriots played, and beat, a very tough Carolina Panthers team. It was a nail biter down to the last seconds of the game, and nobody in the crowd spent much time on their Super Bowl commemorative seat cushion.
Here are some of the highlights in brief before I post some pictures and give you a little more of an accounting of the event:
- Donnie Wahlberg (from the New Kids on the Block) was on the plane with us
- Bob Villa was sitting in the seat behind me at the Super Bowl (exchanged many high fives with the tool guy)
- Went to the Patriot’s after-party. It was way cool - Aerosmith and Kid Rock played, saw Kid Rock’s new chick Jamie Pressley, Cedric the Entertainer, Ty Law, Willie McGinnest, Rodney Harrison, Daniel Graham, Matt Light, Joe Andruzzi, Bob Kraft cradling “the trophy,” Ted Johnson (my friend Lori’s favorite - she got a picture with him), and some other players.
- The flight home sucked on Monday morning - had to leave the party at 1:30 and flew at 4:00 am.
- Slept most of the day Monday (thank you Michele!)
- Michele woke me up at one point to tell me that Carson had head lice - great homecoming present!
It was awesome, and an even better game than the last Super Bowl. Don’t think I’ll do the one-day trip again (unless they go to Detroit in 2006). Too much of a strain on my old, fat body.
I’m going to sign off for now, but will post pictures in a day or two after I get the chance to download, etc.
Go Pats!
Chuck
