I’ve Got Shoes, They’re Multiplying…

This is a video I did in response to another video on YouTube about butchering song lyrics.  I’m posting it here for my family, as this is kind of an ongoing joke for us (well, for the rest of the family as it’s on me).

Hope you enjoy it!

A Really Cool Dish Machine - Reusable Acrylic Dishes

Saw this video on YouTube, and even though it is an early-stage prototype, I thought it was a very cool application.

Makes you think about some of the other things that you might be able to do with this type of material.  Toys that could be used once, temporary art, who knows…

Back to the future, baby.

I think Carson is becoming addicted to YouTube

Carson wanted to make another video for YouTube the other night.  Here it is:

I’ll have to get Marissa and Ginger (and possibly the cats if they’ll sit still long enough) into some videos.  People seem to like the pets and kids on YouTube!

Scary Stuff About Chemicals

I found this video on YouTube by a toxicologist who discusses how many chemicals there are floating around us - in our bodies and in our environment.  There’s certainly a lot to chew on, but it makes sense to try and minimize our exposure to chemicals.  And, with what he said about fats and PCBs, I could be in some serious trouble when I get older!

Enjoy!

Goofing Around with Carson

I’ve been playing with the video capabilities of my (relatively) new Mac.  Carson and I were sitting there playing with the video recorder the other day, and came up with this video:

I’ve got a few more videos up on YouTube, and you can check out my YouTube Channel by clicking on this link.

Weight Loss - Let’s Try Again

Well… I’m back on the weight loss wagon, and working with the Weight Watchers program this week. As much as I hate to admit it, I’m a big, fat slob at the moment, and the Super Bowl (and the ensuing weeks) did much to derail my weight loss efforts. Oh, and I have no willpower when it comes to food.

So, I’ve come back to the one “diet” that seems to work for me - Weight Watchers. If I keep track of my food, it seems to get it through my thick skull that I’m only supposed to eat enough to be full. It seems like a lot when I put it down on paper, but when I have it on the plate, the food portions seem lacking. But, I’ve had some success this week, so I’ll keep it up.

Here’s the latest:

New Start Weight: 242.5 pounds

Current Weight: 236.0 pounds

Total Weight Loss: 6.5 pounds

It’s not too bad (6.5 pounds in three days), but I need to get myself ready for the weekend. I have no problem sticking to the diet during the work week, but once I have all that time at home with the food, I crumble. Guess I’ll have to keep myself busy.

I have been exercising at least 5 days a week (LifeCycle and BowFlex), so at least I feel a bit healthier. I’ll be keeping it up (so to speak), and have a goal to watch myself until my birthday on April 13th. This gives me about 8 weeks to lose weight before then. My goal is to lose at least 25 pounds, which is roughly 3 pounds a week (for those of you who couldn’t figure out the math above).

Wish me luck!

The Beer Prayer

A buddy sent this to me via email, so I don’t know where it’s from. But, it’s a funny picture, and whoever wrote the poem, I salute you!
